Commissioner: I am the commissioner of the MLB. My name is Chase, and I am the GM of the New York Yankees. I decide the rules and am the final decision maker, but I allow input from owners from around the league.
Price: There is no fee to enter this league.
Rosters: All Rosters are required to start the following positions: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, RF, DH, 5 SP, 5 RP
Setting Rosters Deadline: All rosters are to be set as of March 30th, 2011, as Opening Day is the following day.
Scoring: Matchups are weekly H2H scoring, with no interleague play taking place. The winner of each matchup is awarded a win. Standings will be updated weekly.
Playoffs: This is similar to the real MLB system. A winner from every division plus a wild card team from each league will move on to the playoffs. Each leagues winner will face off in the leagues World Series.
Salary: We use Cot's to assign player contracts. Here is the link to the website- mlbcontracts.blogspot.com/. On the left, click on your team. Then look at salaries for 2011. Then record that on your team rosters. Seven years is the maximum amount of years a player can be signed to.
Salary Cap: The salary cap for every team in the league is $200MM.
Resigns: You may make player resigns
Free Agency: Any team is allowed to bid on a free agent, as long as you have enough cap space. After one day (24 hours) the team with the highest bid wins the player, and must assign the player to his roster immedietly. The lowest amount you can bid for any player is $400,000.
Position Eligibility: A player must start five games or play ten games at a certain position to gain eligibility.
Trades: Any team is allowed to make trades. If four out of six members from the Trade Panel Committee approve of the trade, it is processed. If the trade has not been voted on after four days or there are not enough votes, it will be approved or vetoed by myself.
Trade Deadline: The Trade Deadline is on August 31st of each year. Trades open up again one week after the World Series is concluded.
Waivers: If you at any time want to waive a player, you may place them on waivers. The player is therefore off of your roster, though you still have to pay for his salary. Once the player is claimed off of waivers, that team is now responsible for his salary, unless you decide to pull him back from waivers. If a player is pulled back from waivers, you may not waive that player for the remainder of the season.
Minors Draft: We do have a minors draft. It consists of ten rounds. Players eligible for the draft are either A) Players drafted out of the MLB Amateur Draft or B) Minors players that have not yet debuted in the major leagues. Players that are undrafted but have signed a pro contract become free agents. Once drafted, you must sign a minors player to his real life contract. Our minors draft takes place two weeks after the season ends each year.
Minors Roster: There is no maxiumum players you can have on this roster. A prospect is defined as someone who has less then 150 PA or 50 IP in the majors. Once they reach that limit, that does not mean that they must be called up though. You may keep players in the minors as long as needed, and majors players can be sent down to the minors at any time.
Collusion: Collusion is taken very seriously in this league. If I or any trade panel committee members catch collusion, the owner will be immedietly banned from the league. If there is a severely lopsided trade that was not meant for collusion, the trade will be vetoed by the committee.
If you have any questions about the rules, I will answer as soon as possible.
